Steve Aubrecht. Partner, Corporate Finance, at Grey, Alcott, a New York investment bank. Logan Ewing's and Bill Arroyo's boss, he is still mourning the death of his wife.
Mike Berk. Deputy Director Intelligence, CIA. The President has given him an important assignment.
Brian Boyle. Head of the Japanese section of CIA Intelligence. Friend of Alex Lowry. He is the first to notice a mysterious cluster of deaths.
Kim Bradley. A former "Supermodel", she moved to Tokyo to run Memphis Modeling's office there after an automobile accident left her scarred.
Mike Cavallo. NYPD homicide detective who has three murders to solve and not a single lead.
Mrs. De Maria. Ichiro Kamatu's secretary at Taiyo Bank and Trust Company, New York, she is helpful and loyal to her boss.
Danny Di Rocco. Computer programmer at Taiyo Bank and Trust Company, New York. He has to decide whether Yankee games would be as much fun without Michiko.
Takashi Doi. Japanese Consul in New York. Friend of Ichiro Kamatsu, he never has a chance to enjoy his retirement.
Doris. Secretary of Alex Lowry. He relies on her help and discretion.
Eguchi. A lieutenant in the Naganori-gumi Yakuza and a former sumo wrestler, he had to abandon the ring after he threw a fight.
Logan Ewing. Senior Vice President, Corporate Finance, at Grey, Alcott, a New York investment bank. Having launched a successful career in the 1980's, he wants to live to enjoy the 1990's.
Michiko Fujitani. A lovely, young supervisor at Taiyo Bank and Trust Company, New York. Niece of Ichiro Kamatsu, who adopted her when her parents were killed in a car crash when she was eight.
Sonia Goldberg. A translator at the Monteverde embassy in Tokyo. Her beauty would enhance any diplomatic occasion.
Steve Gross. Works for Michiko Fujitani at Taiyo Bank and Trust Company, New York. His studies sometimes distract him from his work.
Mrs. Homma. The kindly wife of the Japanese Vice Consul in New York.
Hasan Hussain. A clueless new hire in Grey, Alcott's International Department. He either doesn't know or doesn't care how business is done in the Big Apple.
Jiro Ichikawa. Assassin employed by the Naganori-gumi Yakuza. He enjoys killing so much, the money is secondary.
Minoru Itoh. Chairman and CEO of Kanto Camera. Friend of Ichiro Kamatsu. He provides wisdom and refuge amid turmoil.
Mrs. Itoh. Wife of Minoru Itoh. Her world centers on her home and family.
Iwata. A lieutenant in the Naganori-gumi Yakuza. His attempt to take the initiative is a disaster.
Dr. Mabelle Johnson. An ER doctor at Bellevue Hospital, New York.
Ichiro Kamatsu. Head of Taiyo Bank and Trust Company, New York. He has never completely recovered from the suicide of his son.
Noriko Kamatsu. Wife of Ichiro Kamatsu. She is completely devoted to her husband.
Yasuo Kameda. Former Prime Minister of Japan, he had to resign after he was accused of taking bribes. Before that, he served as Minister of Finance.
Hachiro Kobayashi. A financier whose passion for golf is his undoing.
Ed Kurtz. Head of the East Asian section of CIA Intelligence and Brian Boyle's boss. A cold, hard man, but honest and reliable.
Dick Loosey. A lawyer whose specialty is defending underworld clients, his competence is exceeded only by his sleaziness.
Alex Lowry. CIA operations officer in Tokyo, under the guise of being the embassy's Deputy Commercial Attache. He wanted to do something meaningful with his life, but ended up lonely and disillusioned.
Lori Lublin. Accountant at Taiyo Bank and Trust Company, New York and best friend of Michiko Fujitani. Until she meets Mr. Right, she goes shopping.
Senator Tyrone "Mac" MacPherson. Former head of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, he used his contacts to develop a flourishing consulting business. His fees and his ego are equally enormous.
Ted Manning. CIA Operations, Langley. Boss of Alex Lowry and Koji Tatsumi, he lets his men get the job done.
Mrs. Matsumoto. Wife of Noriko Kamatsu's cousin, who is the head of Taiyo Bank, Japan. She knows a woman's place and is happy to teach Michiko hers.
Ken Moriki. A lieutenant in the Tokugawa-kai Yakuza and friend of Toji Tatsumi.
Hideo Nakanishi. Assistant to Ichiro Kamatsu at Taiyo Bank and Trust Company, New York, he prefers golf and discos to work and owes his job to his father's influence. He is distrusted by Kamatsu and despised by Michiko.
Yoku Nishiro. A young recruit to the Naganori-gumi Yakuza, he is completely dedicated to his oyabun, Ueda. (Portrayed by Hossan Leong.)
Kenji Ogata. An ailing real estate developer, he's looking for funds for his next big project.
Tom Potter. Jack Sargent's White House Chief of Staff. He is tough, pragmatic and loyal.
Kathy Quinn. Secretary to "Mac" MacPherson, she is a pert mid Westerner.
Joe Reynolds. Former governor of Michigan, ex-head of the UAW and Viet Nam veteran, he is challenging Jack Sargent for the Presidency in the next election. For him, the US is at war and Japan is the enemy.
Jaime Rodriguez. NYPD homicide detective. Partner of Mike Cavallo, he is more relaxed than his comrade, but equally effective.
Rose. Hideo Nakanishi's secretary at Taiyo Bank and Trust Company, New York. While he's out playing golf, she's polishing her nails.
Sakaue. A lawyer for the Naganori-gumi Yakuza.
Jack Sargent. President of the United States of America. He is determined to defeat Reynolds and his bigotry.
The Takahashis. The uncle and his Tokugawa-kai nephew are being forced to pay protection money to the Naganori-gumi Yakuza.
Koji Tatsumi. A Japanese American who runs CalNippon Exporting in Tokyo, he is also a covert field officer for the CIA. When his work becomes too routine, he turns to more dangerous pursuits.
Kuzuhiro Togami. A retired businessman whose trip to Paris costs more than he anticipated.
Tomao. A dedicated salaryman and Michiko's old boy friend, he proves to Michiko that "You can't go home again."
Yukio Ueda. Head of the Naganori-gumi Yakuza. Brutal and ruthless, he likes blondes as much as he hates the Tokugawa-kai Yakuza.
Mrs. Ueno. Nurse of Kenji Ogata, she is kindly and dedicated.
Wade. The blond bartender at Mama-san's, a gay bar in Shinjuku.
Tadashi Watanabe. A minor official in Ministry of Finance, he'll betray his country to support his lifestyle.
Melissa Whitman. One of Memphis Modeling's current "hot" models. Beautiful, self-absorbed and not very bright.
Tetsuo Yagami. Obliged to become the head of the Tokugawa-kai Yakuza after the death of his uncle and the murder of his cousins by Ueda. His chief wish is to return to his work as a bookkeeper, once he has settled accounts with the Naganori-gumi Yakuza.
