Having cleared that up, let's talk about the Japanese and racism. Their past and present political leaders have written books about the superiority of the Japanese to all other races and ethnic groups. Their prejudice against Africans and African-Americans is well documented.

A leading politician was quoted some months ago as saying that one good thing about the strong yen was that it made it too expensive for American sailors anchored in Japanese harbors to come ashore on leave. Sailors whose presence represents the commitment of the United States to the defense of Japan. This is the racism, ladies and gentlemen, about which my opponents should really be concerned.
