"You are, of course, aware that the yen at these levels increases the trade deficit and make Japanese goods more expensive abroad. But it also makes it much more difficult for less developed countries, which have accepted Japan's gracious loans, to pay off their debts."

Kameda acknowledged that indeed, while Japan was honored at the value the world chose to ascribe to its humble currency, the strong yen did in fact create some difficulties, both domestically and internationally.

"I am here today as a representative of the President of one of your debtor nations."

Kameda remained silent for some moments, considering the implications of this, while Mac waited patiently.
