Logan and Bill were waiting for Hussain. They had told the man they would not proceed until they had seen the actual certificate.

Hussain had agreed only after an hour of frequently heated discussion, and then reluctantly. Finally, however, Hasan was going to produce "the goods", as Bill called them.

They were waiting in silence, reading The New York Times, when Logan suddenly lay down the Business section.
