Lori opened the refrigerator. Not very hungry after exercising, she took out a container of frozen yogurt, picked up a spoon, and settled in front of the television. One of the cable channels was airing a recent Mel Gibson movie. She was just beginning to relax when her buzzer sounded.

Not expecting anyone, Lori tensed and went over to the intercom.

"Who is it?"

"Detective Cavallo, Miss Lublin. NYPD. I met you at the Kamatsu's."

"What do you want?"

"I need to ask you some questions."

Lori pushed the buzzer which unlocked the front door and waited while the detective and Alex climbed the three steep flights of stairs to her apartment.
