Manhattan

Danny did not know that Michiko cried for a long time after he left. He doubted she would ever get seriously involved with an Italian boy from Brooklyn and he himself had no desire to make a commitment.

He lived with his parents and all his money not spent on sports tickets was being saved to buy a new car. But he would miss Michiko a lot, he admitted to himself as he waited for the subway. Yankee games would just not be the same.

The platform was deserted and Danny, thinking about Michiko, gave only half a glance to the young Oriental neatly dressed in jeans, black leather jacket and baseball cap who had walked down the stairs behind him. Smiling to himself as he recalled the night's activities, Danny failed to notice how close the other man had come.
