Hussain was a short, swarthy man in his late fifties, well-dressed in a gray suit and a Hermes tie. Before he spoke, however, he glanced over his shoulder, got up and closed the door. Sitting down again, he leaned forward and spoke intensely. "Before I joined Grey, Alcott, I worked in Japan as a corporate banking officer, first with BCCI..." Hussain held up his hand as Logan's eyebrows rose. "For eighteen months only, and then with United Arab Bank. While I was there, I made many good contacts among Japanese business men. One of them was a real estate developer, Kenji Ogata. The bank provided financing for some of his projects and we would play golf together. "Ogata is a prominent man, well respected, and he introduced me to some very high level people. When I left Tokyo last year, we promised to keep in touch and I assured him that if there were ever anything I could do for him, he should call me." Logan shifted impatiently as Hussain paused dramatically. |
